Brazil Cuts Electricity Costs

The president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, has announced on national television that electricity costs will be reduced starting 2013.  

The new rates will be announced tomorrow, September 11, 2012. The industrial sector will benefit from a deduction of up to 28%.

According to Rousseff, these will help the industrial sector with a competitive advantage.  

The residential consumers will incur a deduction of up to 16.2%.
