The Information Technology sector has led the number of mergers and acquisitions in the third quarter, followed by the Services (for companies) and the Internet ( .com ) firms. Foreign buyers are pushing the transactions number in Brazil.
The KPMG’s survey, showed an increase in transactions involving foreigners in the first nine months of 2012, with 390 deals, compared to 313 in the first nine months of last year, while domestic transactions (Brazilian companies acquiring Brazilian companies) was reduced in the period, from 293 in 2011 to 250 this year.
IT companies lead the ranking of M&A since 2008. Despite the international crisis, “there is a tendency of growing for the coming months” “they have arisen various virtual platforms business to computers, tablets and smartphones, demanding a number of investment companies and venture capital funds”, commented Luis Motta, partner at KPMG Brazil – M&A / Valuations.
